Grey

It is a stormy, grey day.  The thunder claps woke me up at 4am and I haven't really slept since.  While it is Sunday, there seems to be so much on my mind...an endless to-do list, that keeps flowing through my subconscious.  It has been a quiet, pleasant weekend thus far.  We drove to South Bend for most of the day Saturday to celebrate my Grandmother-in-law's 95th birthday.  What a life!  She is still so happy and loves her family.

Lately we have been in a steady routine of work, school, dinner, sleep...repeat.  The training for the New York Marathon has taken a back seat these last two weeks.  A long run is in my future today, but the nasty weather is not making things appealing in terms of a three hour run around the subdivision.  I am excited about the trip to New York, and know that a fast run is not in the cards this time around.  However, I am confident that I will finish and enjoy the experience!  The thought of being in New York for the first time in three weeks is a little overwhelming.  Last-minute planning is going to happen shortly, with things like throw-away clothes for the start line, a rain poncho, planning where a grocery store is near my lodging, etc.  A lot of little things need to be accounted for between now and then.  It will all happen.

The girls are enjoying a lazy Sunday morning, although cleaning the house is in the very near future.  It feels like every room has some work that needs to be done in terms of organizing and cleaning.  Laundry is always present, but toys need to be put away, beds need to be made, vacuuming needs to be completed.  So today there will be rolls of paper towels and sprays of Windex and cleaner that will fill this house until there is some form of cleanliness throughout our beautiful home.  I think the best part is getting it done early so we can laze about during the football games and even enjoy a nap of sorts later in the day.

So there are these things to do.

Here are some pictures from the zoo last weekend:
