Thanksgiving

A final picture in the front yard before hitting the road home.  Another year, another sweet year.

It has been another successful, beautiful Thanksgiving adventure to Richmond.  Our family is so wonderful, and they always welcome us with open arms and hearts.  We enjoyed our time, laughing and talking and sharing about our lives from the past year.  It always amazes me that we go about our lives all year and manage to return here to this special place each November.  The food is always beyond delicious.

I am proud of my children, my sister, and my cousins at the amazing people they are growing up to become, and it is so special to watch them play and interact.  I also learn more each year about what it means to be a father and a parent from my Aunt Irene and Uncle Fred, and try to just watch how they live life and interact with their children.  Each year we depart from Richmond with hearts overflowing,  keeping us content until next Thanksgiving.

PS-The pictures loaded in reverse order for some reason, so this year the reader will experience the trip backwards...which is interesting in a way.

Looking Towards Thanksgiving

Violet getting glasses!

It is a rainy, dreary Saturday morning.  Sam is still asleep and it is almost 10:30am!  The girls are nestled on the couch by the fire after some eggs and toast.  I have already had a sauna and taken the car to get an oil change.  The morning feels productive, yet slowed down a bit with the constant tapping of the rain at my window.  The wind is picking up a bit, and I pull the blanket a little tighter before continuing to type.

We are getting ready soon to meet up in Gary, IN with some family for the afternoon, but for now we all sit still and enjoy our quiet morning.  We are counting down the days until our departure for Virginia, and our hearts are filled with love and excitement.  Until then, there is a house that needs cleaning, laundry to fold, packing to be done, and kids to be entertained!

It was a grilled cheese kind of day earlier this week.  I love a perfect toast!
